Music at Judea Reform
Music is an integral part of the worship and learning life of Judea Reform Congregation. Rabbi Bach and our new Education Director, Rabbi Nelson, both bring musical leadership and vision to the Congregation and strongly believe in the ability of music to create community and holiness in our midst. All Congregants are encouraged to participate in worship services through sung prayer. Shabbat evening and morning services are led in part by lay worship leaders or Shlihei Tzibur who are members of the congregation. Our clergy and Shliehei Tzibur strive to infuse the services with simcha (joy) and kedushah (holiness). Services at Judea Reform feature high-quality contemporary and traditional Reform music in tune with the meaning and message of the particular service. Congregants of all ages participate on the bimah in almost every service, enhancing worship with their vocal or instrumental offerings or by chanting Torah.
In addition to Shabbat services, congregation members help to provide music for Holiday and life cycle events such as High Holiday services, Simchat Torah, Chanukah, Purim, and weddings.
Judea Reform presents a series of concerts and special musical evenings through the year Guest Artists have included Julie Silver, Rosalie Boxt, Rick Recht, Noam Katz, and Dan Nichols. Stay tuned for more information on this year’s series: Shir Simcha.
