Advanced Beginner Hebrew Reading Class

Improve your Hebrew reading speed, confidence, and accuracy. Advanced Beginner Hebrew Reading is intended for individuals who know the Aleph Bet and vowels, are able to decode Hebrew words with a fair amount of precision, and want guided practice to achieve reading fluency. Slow and unsure readers are welcome. We will read a variety of ancient and modern Hebrew texts, including excerpts from the Tanach, children's books, newspapers, and poems.

Dates:  Wednesdays, Jan. 5, 12, 19, 26, Feb. 2, 9, 16, 23, March 2, 9, and16

Time: 6:30 to 7:15p.m.

Where:  Judea Reform Mirkaz Limud (Education Center)

Fee: $220 for members, $250 for non-members

Q: Do I need to attend every class?
A: It is recommended, but not required.  To achieve reading improvement and fluency, consistent practice is key.  

Q: Will classes be held in-person or virtually?
A: Classes will be held-in person at Judea Reform, unless COVID safety protocols require that we move to Zoom.

Q: Do I need to buy any books for the class?
A: No, the instructor will provide all of the reading material.

Q: Will I learn Hebrew vocabulary or grammar in this class?
A: No, this is strictly a reading class.  (Some materials will come with English translations and some will not.)
