Why did you make a legacy gift to Judea Reform Congregation?

Eight years ago we moved to Chapel Hill from the DC metropolitan area where there was a sizable Jewish population.  In order to sustain our Jewish identity we decided to join a synagogue for the first time in several years.  While our prior affiliations had included both Conservative and Reform temples we are attracted to the contemporary and progressive aspects of Reform Judaism.  As soon as we joined Judea we felt welcomed and were encouraged to participate.  Since then we have made dear friends and found support in the services and activities.  Never has this support been more noticeable than during the last few months as we all struggle with our changed lives during these extraordinary times.  From the “virtual services” to the “learning programs” to the “personal outreach phone calls” it has been evident that while the building may be closed our congregation is still active and available.
