Judea Reform Congregation is thrilled to welcome Eric Ward, a national expert on the relationship between hate violence and preserving democratic institutions. Eric Ward will be in the Triangle area as a part of the Temple Beth Or Social Justice Scholar-in-Residence and will be speaking at Judea Reform on Thursday, April 2 at 7:00 pm  on:

ERIC WARD is a national expert on the relationship between hate violence and preserving democratic institutions, governance, and inclusive societies, Eric K. Ward brings nearly 30 years of expertise in community organizing and philanthropy to his role as Western States Center’s Executive Director.

A contributor to the Progressive Media Project from 2008-2014, Eric has been quoted and cited extensively by national media and is the editor of three published works: Conspiracies: Real Grievances, Paranoia and Mass Movements; Second Civil War: States’ Rights, Sovereignty; and Power of the County and American Armageddon: Religion, Revolution, and the Right. Eric is also the author of the 2017 essay Skin in the Game: How Antisemitism Animates White Nationalism.

Eric was one of eight leaders, in countries ranging from the U.S. to Senegal, to receive a New Executives Fund grant from the Open Society Foundations in June 2018. In 2019, Eric was named a Fellow of the Rockwood Leadership Institute. He is also the recipient of the Peabody-Facebook Futures Media Award, Arab American Association of New York Community Impact Award, and Martin Luther King Jr. Leadership Award. Please click here for his online bio.
