We’re all familiar with the famous words of Cain in Genesis, “Am I my brother’s keeper,” a saying that has endured hauntingly through the ages. Yet, these words do more than present a myth of origin for sibling rivalry; they set the stage for the complex relationships throughout the Hebrew Bible. Together we’ll survey several sibling stories, exploring how our Tanakh (Hebrew Bible) offers insight into the struggles inherent in human relationships.
This is a 6-session course and each class will build on the previous one. No advance reading is required. The course will be in-person only at Judea Reform (exact location TBD). There is no cap on enrollment.
