Preparing to Commemorate October 7

Join us during the month of Elul, a time of reflection, looking back, and preparing for what is to come for a conversation with Rabbi Melissa Simon. Using poetry, art, and music, as well as images and stories from her experience leading travel to a post-October 7 Israel, Rabbi Simon will guide participants through a conversation and inquiry of how we commemorate the past year.

Rabbi Melissa B. Simon is the Director of Israel Education for Hillel International, a part of the Center for Jeiwsh and Israel Education. She is in her 11th year in the Hillel movement, having served as the Hillel Director and Jewish chaplain at Muhlenberg College and as the Senior Jewish Educator and Rabbi for North Carolina Hillel at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. 

A graduate of Mount Holyoke College, she was ordained by Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, where she also recieved a Master's in Religious Education and a Master's in Hebrew Letters.
