Early Elementary: Pre-K through 2nd Grade

Our Pre-K through 2nd grade program meets at 9:30am at the sanctuary building for Tefillah, our short morning prayer service. This age group finishes at noon. A typical day begins with a Mitzvah Circle followed by Torah learning, storytelling, arts and crafts, recess, and a snack with challah and juice. Our first and second grade classes use the Chai Curriculum which focuses on three pillars of Jewish learning: Torah, Avodah, and G’milut Chasadim.

Babysitting is available for families who navigate both the 12:00 and 12:30 dismissal times.

Curriculum Overview

Pre-Kindergarten (4 years old) and Kindergarten:  The Jewish Learning Journey begins!

Our Pre-K and Kindergarten students explore the exciting aspects of being Jewish. Through interactive projects, our students are introduced to Jewish holidays, Torah stories, prayers, and Jewish values.

1st Grade: I am a part of the ongoing story of the Jewish people.

Our 1st Graders continue to develop their Jewish identity by learning the Jewish story from its beginning in B'reishit (Genesis). Through learning about Jewish holidays and Jewish rituals, our students discover that there is a Jewish way to celebrate the world around them.

2nd Grade:  Jewish stories, celebrations, and rituals help me understand our tradition and can help me develop a relationship with God and the Jewish people.

Our 2nd Grade students explore the world around them and examine the actions that they perform throughout their day. They continue to develop an understanding of the idea of God based on Jewish traditions, and they explore the ways that their actions can help make the world a better place.
