It’s Giving Tuesday, and Judea Reform is launching our 2024 Annual Appeal with a goal of $50,000.

We know we can achieve this because we know how generous you are. Our community feels the impact of your generosity in countless ways, and  our Annual Appeal is critical for us to continue enhancing each others’ lives through the work of the congregation. This year, Judea Reform’s Annual Appeal supports 3 pillars of our operating budget: Food, Education, and Security.

The Talmud teaches, ein kemach, ein Torah, “where there is no bread, there is no Torah.”  We love gathering together at our First Fridays, Community Shabbatot, Onegs and more, and we love being able to enjoy meals together. Breaking bread together in community is a lifeblood of our congregation. As you are well aware, food costs have soared during  the past year. Your Annual Appeal donation  will strengthen our community bonds by  breaking bread together.

We are inspired by the mitzvah v’shinantam l’vanecha, to “teach your children.”   We could not be more thrilled that our Religious School is thriving, growing at rates far exceeding most congregations in the country. We have 248 students enrolled; 32 more than last year. This rapid growth is what we want--educating our children to connect to their Jewishness for the next generation.  Yet,  this rapid growth in the number of children we’re teaching means  an increased need for teachers and supplies.  Your Annual Appeal donation will support the education of our children.

Vishavte l’vetac b’artz’chem, “You shall dwell securely in your land” (Lev. 26:6). Providing our members with a safe and secure communal home is a blessing beyond measure, especially in this alarming world. We value our security staff, and  costs have increased significantly since the events of October 7,  2023. And these costs continue growing, with the rise of anti-semitism in this country. Your Annual Appeal donation will support the safety of our community.
