As we enter our peak season of togetherness, inspiration, and renewal, here are some things you need to know about High Holy Days in 2024.

• You must renew your membership to attend High Holy Services.

• We are planning to be IN-PERSON for the High Holy Days.

• We are also planning to have our 4 main Congregational services HYBRID. They will be LIVE STREAMED. 

• Our Family Services will be IN-PERSON; Family services will be recorded and can be viewed at a later time.

• 1-2-3 Services will be IN-PERSON ONLY 

Our online services are live streamed on our website or on Facebook.

COVID-19 PROTOCOL: Masks will be optional for all High Holy Day services. We ask that you make the best decision for yourself AND for our community. If you are feeling unwell, please play it safe and participate with us from home. 

Judea Reform provides name tags, which function as admission passes to all of our High Holy Days services. Members and guests will be required to present their name tags to the greeters at our main entrance and/or Easy Access Entrance before each service. 

You will pick up your name tag at the first service you attend. Name tags will be available 30 minutes before the start of services. Upon entering the building you will head to the Monsein Community Court where you will find tables with alphabetized name tags for members and a separate table with name tags for guests and college students. A staff member will be present to find your nametag and welcome you.

Judea Reform Members

High Holy Day name tags are free for adult members of Judea Reform Congregation and their children under the age of 23, provided the member’s account is renewed and in good financial standing.  Each adult member of the congregation receives one name tag. Name tags are not required for dependent children under 23. 

Lost/Forgotten Name Tags

Members who have forgotten their name tags will be required to register at the main entrance, present valid photo ID, fill out a new name tag, and will then be permitted to enter.

Guest Name Tags

Click here to register and purchase name tags for visiting friends or family who are not members of Judea Reform by 3pm Friday, September 27.

Name tag contributions are 100% tax deductible. Suggested donations are as follows:

• Local or out-of-town family member (age 23+) of a JRC member: $100 per adult

• Unaffiliated, non-member: $200 per adult

• Non-member, but member in good standing at another URJ synagogue: no charge if reciprocity is confirmed in advance, see website for details

Guest name tags can be picked up in the Monsein Community Court at the guest check-in table starting 30 minutes before services. 

ONLINE access is available to all and guests are welcome. We ask those guests attending virtually to consider making a contribution to our synagogue community with a donation ($54, $72, $126) to our General Fund (in note section indicate High Holy Days.) 

Graduate & Undergraduate Students

Students receive complimentary entry; they are required to present a current student ID and sign in at the main entrance before services. Register here for a complimentary student name tag.

Going Away for the High Holy Days?

Out-of-towners who are members in good standing at another URJ-affiliated congregation may request reciprocity in advance. They are given guest passes and may attend at no cost.

In turn, Judea Reform members in good standing may request reciprocity at a URJ affiliated congregation in another location.

Why the Suggested Donation?

JRC welcomes more than 1,000 members and guests for the High Holy Days. There are significant costs associated with security, shuttles, rentals, printing, break-the-fast, etc. and those who attend services share the expense. Members make their contributions directly through their membership support; guests are asked to contribute through name tag donations. Thank you for making High Holy Days worship possible!

No one will be denied admission to High Holy Days services because of an inability to pay the suggested contribution.
