Life & Legacy Program: Assuring Jewish Tomorrows

In 2016, Judea Reform joined Life & Legacy, a program of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation.

What is Life & Legacy?

Life & Legacy is a 4-year partnership program of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation (HGF) that assists communities across North America, through partnerships with Jewish Federations and Foundations, to promote after-lifetime giving to benefit Jewish day schools, synagogues, social service organizations and other Jewish entities.

Through training, support and monetary incentives, Life & Legacy motivates Jewish organizations to secure legacy gifts, steward donors and integrate legacy giving into the philanthropic culture of the Jewish community.

Why?

Through Life & Legacy, HGF aims to motivate Jewish communities to become proactive in encouraging widespread legacy giving in order to sustain the future of their organizations. The program is founded on the principle that all of us, regardless of age, wealth, or affiliation, can make an enduring impact.

Community Involvement

A highlight of the program is the unrestricted incentive grant the Jewish Federation of Durham Chapel Hill will award all participating organizations based on meeting legacy commitment benchmarks. This community program includes not just Judea Reform Congregation, but also:

How can I get involved?

Life & Legacy Gifts can be established through many paths: bequests or wills, donor advised funds, life insurance, gift or real estate, securities, or other property, retirement plan assets, charitable remainder trusts, and gift annuities.

The first step? We'd love to have one of our Life & Legacy Team Members visit you to talk about the program.
